PACTwareTM Live Training 2009

In November 2009, the PACTware Consortium introduced a new Live Training concept.
The half-day event consisted of workshops facilitating the direct communication between the participants and the hosting PACTware member companies. The experts from eleven well-known companies in process automation demonstrated how to make device operation more efficient by means of the universal PACTware operator interface. The main focus of the events was the practical benefit of device operation with the most commonly used FDT frame application, PACTware. The workshops under the headings commissioning, operation and maintenance showed application examples in live operation by using a multi-vendor devices wall. Demonstrations showed to the participants how their daily work can be considerably facilitated and speeded up by using just one single tool for all communication and field devices, be it HART, Profibus or Foundation Fieldbus protocol.
The attendees obtained detailed information in functions and scope of services of PACTware.
The event was complemented by product exhibitions of the hosting companies Bopp & Reuther, CodeWrights, ICS, ifak system, Invensys, KROHNE, Pepperl+Fuchs, Samson, Trebing & Himstedt, Turck and VEGA.
The Live Trainig was supported by the FDT Group.
The interest of the customers was very high, which was reflected in the number of 200 visitors as well as in the quality of the questions. Many representatives of the hosting companies took the opportunity to get first-hand information, too.
Due to the large acceptance of this meeting series a continuation is taken into account in 2010.
