Raw materials and intermediate products
A multitude of raw materials and intermediate products used in the pharmaceutical industry are in powder, granular or pellet form. Depending on the required quantities, the vessels vary greatly in volume, design and application. Filling of vessels usually takes place pneumatically, and emptying via conveyor belt. In this scenario, differing product characteristics as well as vessel construction are a challenge to measurement technology.
Level measurement in the milk powder silo with VEGAPULS 68
The consistency and varying fat and moisture content of powder depends on the drying procedure and milk composition. Non-contact measurement with the VEGAPULS 68 radar sensor is the ideal solution for this application. Significant dust generation during filling does not affect the measurement.
Level detection using VEGAVIB 61
To reliably detect the maximum filling level, a VEGAVIB 61 vibrating level switch is implemented. The single rod design avoids build-up and bridging, a common problem with traditional tuning fork switches. VEGAVIB 61 provides reliable level detection no matter which product and no matter how low the product density.
