Reaction vessels

Dynamic processes in the reactor
The reactor is the center stage in the production of pharmaceutical products. Diverse raw materials are mixed with solvents and made to react by adding heat. During the reaction process, pressure, temperature and consistency of the medium may continuously change, leading to bubble formation and a highly agitated liquid surface.
VEGASWING 63 for level detection
In order to avoid overfilling and dry running of pumps, sensors for level detection play an important role in the reactors’ safety chain. The vibrating level switch VEGASWING 63, due to its universal applicability is particularly suitable for reaction vessels. Depending on the required chemical durability extremely resistant and enamelled sensors are available. Unaffected by most process influences: high viscosity, temperatures up to 200°C (392°F) and pressure ranges up to 64 bar (928 psig) do not compromise its performance.
Foam producing products – no problem with differential pressure measurement
Differential pressure measurement with two transmitters ensures a reliable measurement even in the event of strong foam generation during the reaction. The VEGABAR 61 is applicable to the process, even under extreme temperatures, and measures the hydrostatic pressure of the liquid column irrespective of foam on the product surface. In pressurised reaction vessels, differential pressure can be measured in conjunction with the vessel top pressure.
